You learn driving concepts in the classroom, but you gain driving skills on the track
High Performance Sport Lapping
The road to driving expertise is a journey of many laps. ProFormance offers several High Performance Sport Lapping programs to give drivers the valuable track time they need to continue their skill development, with and without a coach.
Usually held Wednesday through Sunday, our lapping programs are available to drivers who have completed the ProFormance One-Day High Performance Driving Clinic, as well as drivers active in the high performance driving community. Each session has a limited car count to provide drivers with the best possible experience.
Requirements for all lapping programs
Students returning to the track after the One-Day High Performance Driving Clinic must participate in a 45-minute coaching session. Successful completion of your coaching session qualifies you for a ProFormance Sport Driving License, recognizing you as a qualified participant in solo lapping. This solo sign-off is required to drive any of our visiting tracks.
Participants must also ensure that their car is in proper mechanical condition for lapping. Check this list for requirements.
What to expect at your first session
There’s no need to be nervous about going from the High-Performance Driving Experience to lapping: you’ll be guided by ProFormance Racing School professionals every step of the way.
- Before your first lapping session, you’ll receive an email with links to two videos to help prepare you. They are optional viewing but recommended. You’ll also receive a guide to obtaining your solo sport driving license (feel free to download/view these now).
- On the day of your lapping session, you’ll be fitted for a helmet, and will receive a logbook to record your driving progress and pointers from your instructors.
- You’ll begin with a drivers’ meeting, and will then have 45 minutes of instruction with your coach on the track.
- After that, you’ll be driving solo, but you’ll be under observation by both your instructor and track marshals.
Many participants will fulfil the requirements for a Sport Driving License at the end of the session. However, some will require more coaching.
Once you’ve received your solo license…
You can choose how often you prefer to drive after receiving your Sport Driving License from ProFormance. Keep in mind, though, that you must do a lapping session at Pacific at least once a year to maintain your license.
Private coaching
Private instructors are available for an additional $150.00 per 45-minute session. A full-time coach can also be arranged.

Our young students must be 15.5 years of age with a valid state learner’s permit. Ideally, 3 – 6 months of driving experience will benefit their learning experience. ProFormance does not conduct a curriculum in basic motor vehicle operation – our focus is developing skill sets in Advanced Car Control and Street Survival.
ProFormance provides helmets free of charge for the first year of driving with us. They are the latest Snell-approved helmets, open-faced and wired for radio transmission between you and your instructor. When you decide this sport is something you want to do on a regular basis, we’ll steer you to knowledgeable companies who can assist you in obtaining safety equipment for you and your car.
All-Day High Performance Lapping Clinics
Drivers who qualify for the High Performance Sport Lapping program are eligible to participate in advanced all-day lapping clinics, which combine on-track experience with brief classroom breakout sessions to provide a productive learning environment.
When ProFormance holds all-day lapping sessions, as well as our Twilight Lapping sessions, drivers are divided into intermediate and advanced, based on skill level and car capability. This provides a better experience for the drivers in each category.
