Two-Day Accredited Competition Race Licensing

  • PREREQUISITE HPDE or equivalent training at an accredited school or nationally recognized club.

ProFormance Racing School provides the highest quality fully accredited competition race licensing training in the USA. Our goal is to help establish a clear plan to determine where you want to race and how you are going to get there. Our Two-Day Accredited Competition Race Licensing course exposes you to everything — mentally and physically — that you’ll encounter on the racetrack. You’ll graduate from the course with a finely tuned set of skills that will make you a better sport lap driver and prepare you to enter competition racing.

Our alumni have gone on to compete in various motorsports, such as Open-Wheel Formula Car racing, GT, and prototype cars. They’ve raced at tracks all over the world, including Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International, and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the USA; and the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, Nürburgring Grand Prix Track, and Silverstone Circuit in Europe. What is your driving ambition?

ProFormance Racing School – Accredited Competition Race Licensing Highlights (1:20)

What to Expect

Our competition race licensing course is the only professional-quality, accredited course of instruction in Washington State that qualifies participants for a competition license from Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC), and Society of Vintage Racing Enthusiasts (SOVREN) racing organizations.

Individual instruction

We keep class sizes small to ensure high-quality personal training for every participant. Our instructors are the best that can be found anywhere, and we maintain a ratio of 1 instructor for 2 participants.

Hands-on Experience

Our training is the most comprehensive in the nation, covering the skills, techniques, and experience you need to get on the grid. The curriculum includes:

  • Mock Starts
  • Tire Scrubbing
  • Heel-Toe Techniques
  • Timed Segments
  • Data Analysis
  • Single Car Qualifying
  • Open Passing
  • Flags
  • Safety Wear & Equipment
  • Race Day Driver’s Meeting

The course culminates in an actual race between students — the first in what can be a lifetime of thrilling and satisfying motorsport competition.

Participants receive a Certificate of Graduation from our accredited competition race licensing course. We also issue you a Certificate of Compliance which qualifies you to apply for a SCCA Novice Permit, ICSCC Novice Race License, and SOVREN Provisional License.

Included with your Course

The Two-Day Accredited Competition Race Licensing course is conducted using ProFormance’s Toyota GR86 race-prepared coupes. ProFormance provides the vehicles, and participants must sign a release form, which includes financial responsibility up to $25,000. Use of Snell SA2020 helmet is included, if needed, and a variety of snacks and box lunches are provided to keep you fueled.

Come Prepared

  • Get a good night’s rest. Competition race driving is great fun, but it’s also mentally demanding and requires full concentration.
  • Wear lightweight and close-fitting clothing. Thin, soft-soled shoes are recommended for maximum pedal “feel.” Some walking over loose terrain will be required.

Next Step on your Driving Journey

Many participants take the race licensing course for knowledge, fun, and experience, and to be a better sport lapping driver. If you want to apply for your novice license from the SCCA, ICSCC, and SOVREN racing organizations and go racing, the ProFormance Accredited Competition Race Licensing course gives you the credentials to do so.

Racing can be expensive, and before you buy a racecar, we encourage you to use the Arrive and Drive racecar rental program. A ProFormance instructor can rent you their car, and mentor you for the first few races to help you transition into the world of amateur racing. They will coach you at the track, prep the car, and help you mentally prepare for practice, qualifying, and racing. Arrive and Drive is affordable and we encourage you take advantage of it before you take the plunge to purchasing your own racecar.
