Pete Bristow

“Drive sideways, steer straight!” – Pete Bristow

Driving Background:

Experience does not even begin to describe Pete’s driving accomplishments over the past few decades. Beginning with motocross in the late ’70s, he went on to compete in the full autocross seasons from 1982 to 1985, and again from 1987 to 1988. During his year hiatus from autocross, he ran a Go Karting season with IKF coming home Region 6 champion and ranked third nationally (pretty cool right?). From 1989 to 1991, he participated in SCCA’s Pro Rally season. Moving into the 2000s, Pete raced in the PRO3 BMW 325is in 2001 and the 6-hour Portland Cascade Enduro. He currently competes in PRO3 Spec E46.

Out of the car, he has been a crew member on several teams in road racing, motocross, and pro rally. He went on to become the crew chief on a Pro Rally team and Formula TR (Tatus/Renault) team. He currently enjoys instructing at ProFormance, IRDC, PCA, AROC, BMWCCA, and local indoor kart tracks. Team player and racing knowledge certainly fit his description!

Tracks Driven:

Horn Rapids Motorsports Complex, Oregon Raceway Park, Pacific Raceways, Pat’s Acres Racing Complex, Portland International Raceway, Sonoma Raceways, Spokane County Raceway, The Ridge Motorsports Park, Thunderhill Raceway Park, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and Westwood Motorsport Park.

Instructor Experience:

It is evident that this is not Pete’s first rodeo. After starting his instructing experience with AROC in 1988, he went on to teach with BMWCCA in 1996, and PCA in 2000. Since then he has gone on to instructor with the Quattro clubs and ProFormance for the last several years.
