It takes just one day to make your teen a better, safer driver. And that day is January 25th.

ProFormance’s Teen Driver Street Survival clinic gives teen drivers the tools to be safer on the road. Sign up now.

If there are teen drivers in your life — or in the life of someone you know — they should be planning on attending ProFormance Racing School’s special All-Teen Driver Street Survival clinic. It’s the only course that’s designed to give teen drivers access to the skills and knowledge they need to stay safe on the streets and highways for life. And there are still places available at the next all-teen sessions on Saturday, January 25th at Pacific Raceways.

Beyond driver’s ed

It’s one thing to learn to operate a motor vehicle. That’s what Driver’s Ed teaches teens. But it takes more to learn to drive a car. That’s where the Teen Driver Street Survival clinic comes in. At the clinic, we begin with a 60-minute classroom session covering concepts that go beyond what you’ll see in Driver’s Ed: topics like vehicle dynamics, skid control, and brake application. The idea is to understand not just the rules of the road, but the physical forces that are in play while you’re driving.

Hands-on instruction

Out on the raceway, your teen will participate in exercises that teach advanced car control in a way that classroom instruction can’t. The idea is to become aware of how your car behaves in acute situations – wet road conditions and skids, sudden stops – and how you can control the car in those situations. That’s the kind of knowledge that makes the difference between a safe trip home and a disastrous one.

No pressure. No judgment. Just thrills.

One thing the name “Street Survival Skills Clinic” doesn’t convey is that anyone taking it will have the time of their lives. Because you get to test your car’s systems — and your own driving ability — to the max, you’re doing things you could never do on the street: acceleration, abrupt braking, and taking the car beyond your ability to control it, so you know precisely where that control point is. The exercises that do this are not just illuminating: they’re incredibly exciting and fun. Virtually everyone who takes the course considers it a high point in their life!

The January 25th sessions are teen only — that makes for more enjoyment. Some teens might feel restricted by the presence of adult drivers, but in their peer group they’ll not only have more fun but will be more likely to push tehmselves and each other without feeling inhibited. A win-win for everyone!

A life-changing— and life-prolonging — course

And it’s not just those invaluable skills we cover. The clinic also takes on topics that affect teens in particular: situational awareness, concentration levels (distracted driving, which is a particular danger to young drivers), and of course, impaired driving.

What you don’t know…

A lot of teens know surprisingly little about their cars. And what you don’t know can hurt you, so the Teen Driver Street Survival clinic also includes a break-out session where we cover the basics on things like putting air in tires, where to find a car’s tire settings (inside the door, in case you didn’t know!) why and how to put antifreeze in. You’d be surprised — or perhaps not — about how many kids don’t know how to open the hood once they pull the lever. After this course, they’ll know the drill.

Sheriff on duty

A 30-year veteran King County Sheriff will also be on hand to answer questions teens have. Often questions come up like, “What do I do if I’m being pulled over?” “What are police watching for?” “What do I do if I have a flat tire?” Here’s their chance to get the answers from an expert, so they know what to expect on the road.

A gift for teen drivers and their parents

The Teen Driver Street Survival clinic is a wonderful gift for teens. Not only will it help them become safer drivers, but it is also a tremendously fun experience. We guarantee your teen will remember the day for the rest of their lives.

Parents get a gift too: peace of mind. You can rest a little easier when your offspring are on the road, knowing that they’re more prepared to approach driving safely, skillfully, and responsibly. That alone is worth the price.

A dedicated sponsor

The public-spirited sponsorship by Elsner Law Firm allows ProFormance to hold this event at a reduced cost for a very fortunate group of teens. Thanks to their community involvement, young drivers from different places and backgrounds will be able to have a great time on this day and learn more than they ever have about their own driving skills.

Events like this are close to our hearts at ProFormance. Participants have fun and learn a lot. Instructors know they’ve helped make the roads a little safer. In short, everyone drives away happy.

Two sessions – book now!

There are still places available at the special All-Teen Driver Street Survival clinics on Saturday, the 25th of January. We offer two sessions – morning and afternoon, so choose whichever works best for you. Book now for a day they’ll remember, and for a lifetime of safe driving for them, and peace of mind for you.
