Mike Meredith, ProFormance Racing School Instructor

Mike Meredith

“ It is necessary to relax your muscles when you can. Relaxing your brain is fatal.” – Sir Stirling Moss

Driving Background:

Mike’s interest in racing and high-performance driving began at an early age, right here at Pacific Raceways, where he attended Trans Am and Formula 5000 races in the 1960s and ‘70s. After putting his racing aspirations on hold to attend the University of Washington, he attended the Winfield Racing School at Circuit Paul Ricard in France. Returning home, he raced in Conference, first driving a Ford Capri, followed by a Formula Ford and a Mazda RX-7. He moved to Daytona Beach and did Public Relations for Daytona International Speedway and the Barber SAAB Pro Series. A 25-year career as an automotive journalist allowed him to experience many of the top tracks in the world.

Tracks Driven:

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Algarve International Circuit, Shanghai International Circuit, Hockenheimring, Road America, Lime Rock, Virginia International Raceway, Circuit of the Americas, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Daytona International Speedway, Circuit Paul Ricard, Barber Motorsports Park, Thunderhill, Summit Point, Atlanta Motorsports Park, The Thermal Club, BMW Performance Center, Willow Springs, Sonoma Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course, The Ridge, Mission Raceway Park, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Transportation Research Center Ohio, Fontana Road Course, Pacific Raceways, Portland International Raceway, Westwood Motorsport Park.

Instructor Experience:

While racing in ICSCC, Mike began teaching for IRDC and became friends with Don Kitch, Jr. Mike became one of the original instructors when Don and Donna Porada-Kitch founded ProFormance Racing School in 1994. Mike is glad to be a ProFormance Instructor, sharing his love for Pacific Raceways and high-performance driving with ProFormance students.
